Gemkom Engineering and Machinery Filial is a newly established branch of the Turkish company Gemkom. It is a leading engineering and manufacturing company that operates in a number of areas and in various ways within the steel industry.

We will participate in a project where H2GS AB (H2 Green Steel) establishes a steel mill in Norra Svartbyn in Boden, where steel will be produced through an almost fossil-free process using hydrogen gas. Our mission is, among other things, to install machines used in steel production and includes work in mechanics, electronics, and plumbing.

We now want to employ an Assistant (Structural Steel). The work tasks may include but are not limited to:

Job Description

• Assist structural steel erectors in lifting, positioning, and securing steel components.
• Prepare tools, equipment, and materials required for steel erection and fabrication.
• Clean and maintain work areas, tools, and machinery.
• Load and unload steel materials and supplies at the worksite.
• Hold and stabilize steel beams, columns, and other structural elements during installation.
• Support welders and fabricators by fetching tools, cutting materials, and grinding surfaces.
• Follow safety guidelines, including wearing protective gear such as helmets, gloves, and harnesses.
• Assist in setting up scaffolding and work platforms when required.
• Perform basic measurements and mark steel components for cutting and assembly.
• Learn and develop skills under the guidance of senior team members.

Desirable qualifications (not mandatory)

• Prior experience in construction or structural steel work is preferred but not required.
• Basic knowledge of hand and power tools used in steel erection.
• Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team.
• Physically fit and capable of handling heavy materials.
• Willingness to work in outdoor and high-altitude environments.
• Strong awareness of workplace safety and ability to follow safety regulations.
